WESTERN ASIATIC OLD BABYLONIAN CYLINDER SEAL FOR ARAD-NAMU SON OF MAZE 18th-17th century BC

A haematite(?) cylinder seal with standing figure, bull and three columns of cuneiform text transliterated as 'arad2-na-mu / dumu ma-ze2 -x- i3-li2 / arad2 d.adad' (Arad-namu, son of Maze?-ili, servant of Adad). 8.39 grams, 21mm (3/4").


Condition Fine condition.

Provenance Property of a London gentleman; part of his family collection since the 1970s; supplied with a museum-quality impression.
